Putting it All Together
DF, DF-1 and DF-2 all provide high volume, top quality performance in a compact, single unit. Glasses are conveyed through the all-welded construction wash and rinse tunnel in the upper section. The lower section houses the drive mechanism, tank, storage shelf and field connections. The superbly compact design and high throughput of the DF series allows them to be used in place of 3 or 4-bin sink units. Water and power consumption is relatively low, yet the glasses emerge cool, sanitized and sparkling.

Low Temp vs. High Temp

The cost savings of low temperature units is minimal due to re-design of dishwasher over the past 15 years. Dishwasher manufacturers have made great improvements in designing high temperature machines. Consequently, the energy consumption of a low temperature dishwasher to heat the final rinse water goes down proportionately, thereby negating cost savings.

1. Fill and dump low temperature dishwasher is more costly to use than hot water. A fill and dump style low temperature dishwasher can use up to twice the amount of water as that of a comparable high temperature unit. The higher water usage does not come without cost. Increased water use results in higher water, sewage and conditioning costs.

2. Considerably more energy (BTU’s) is required to heat large volumes of cold incoming water from 50W (10CC) to 40F (6OC) to meet the high demand of a low temperature unit. Additionally, a larger or separate primary water heater may be required.

3. Detergent use is considerably higher with a low temperature machine because low water temperatures require higher concentrations of detergent to attain the same level of cleanliness as high temperature machines.

4. Rinse additives are used in greater quantities due to the poor drying capabilities of low temperature machine.

5. Sanitizing costs are incurred only with low temperature machines, and depending on the setting and function of the dispensing equipment, can incur even higher additional costs. It is obvious that there are no inherent savings to using a low temperature machine even under the most ideal water and equipment operation conditions. The bottom line is Hot Water gives you clean dishes.
